Hillsborough Dukes traveled to play the Woodbridge Broncos 9/5
The Dukes took on the Woodbridge Broncos, Sunday, September 5th.
On Sunday Sept. 5th, The Hillsborough Dukes traveled take on the Woodbridge Broncos.
The Dukes 14U team, in an exciting first half, found themselves down 6-0, but quickly answered on their second offensive drive.
Josh D’Ambrosio rushed for 20 yards, QB Quinn Haden connected with WR Cooper Karsay for another 20 yards and Trey McFadden ran the ball to get the Dukes in scoring position. RB Zion Grant ran the ball and found the end zone.

After a fumble recovery by Ellinton Hinds the offense took the field. QB Quinn Hayden threw a beauty that was caught by Ryan Gear. Once again, the game saw several fumbles, but Evan Puleio recovered to put the ball on the 5th yard line. This set up Zion Grant for another TD. 12-6 at halftime.
The second half began when Cooper Karsay ran the kick off return for 30 yards. That set up Zion Grant for another TD and Ryan Gear with the extra point.

Another fumble recovery by Evan Puleio and blocking by Caiden Miller gave Kevin Jones, Anthony Mayo and QB Jack Kristjanson offensive plays but were stopped by the Broncos tough defense.
In a crazy turn of events the Dukes defense forced the Broncos to punt in their own end zone, only to have the ball bounce and find the hands of Trey McFadden for another TD.
The 2 point conversion gave the Dukes 26 points.
Key defensive tackles were made by Will Hayes, Kevin Jones, Evan Puelio, and Josh D’Ambrosio. Final score was 26-6 for The Dukes.
The 12U Dukes lost a tough one Sunday to the Woodbridge Broncos 26-6.
Offensively, QB Owen Miller did all he could to keep the Dukes in the game with 64 yard TD run late in the second quarter to bring the score to 7-6 at the half.
Defensively, the Dukes had a difficult time forcing turnovers and stopping the Broncos in the second half.
The 12U Dukes (1-1) look to rebound this weekend when they play Franklin at their home opener.
The 10U team came to play. Fans saw that on the first offensive play of the game when QB Jace O’Donnell handed RB Mason Smith who ran the ball just short of the end zone. John Billings ran it in for the first TD of the game.
The Defense responded with key tackles forcing an interception caught by Jake Jones. Mason Smith was able to capitalize on the play and found the end zone for a score of 12-0.
The Dukes defense allowed nothing for the Broncos and Carter Walinsky closed out the first quarter with an interception.
QB Ryan Hornhorst handed the ball to Jake Jones who pushed through the defense to get the Dukes to 1st and goal. Will Dupree pushed into the end zone.
The unstoppable defense forced a Bronco turnover on downs. Dukes offense put the famous HB pass play into action and Isaac Harrigan threw a completion to Jackson Karsay. This rounded out the first half with a score of 18-0.
The defense started the second half with 3 QB sacks by Jackson Karsay that forced a turnover on downs. Once Mason Smith had the ball, he was gone for another TD. Key defensive tackles by Ryan Hornhorst and John Billings stopped the Broncos. A pitch to Isaac Harrigan allowed a huge run to score another TD with Jake Jones for the extra point.
The final score was 31-6 Dukes.
The Hillsborough Dukes Flag Football team played their 2nd game of the season.
Frank Cocuzza’s Team scored 3 Touchdowns in total scored by Tristin Saleeba (2 TDs) and Preston Knapp (1 TD). The team held Woodbridge to 1 TD behind outstanding defense by Chase Shull, Ryan Fitchett, and Aidan Llanes.
Michal Lento’s Team scored 6 Touchdowns scored by Keith Sokalski (2 TDs), Dante Sica, Hayden Camicia, Christian Lugo all scored 1 TD. Mike Lento 25 yd run for a TD. Of the 5 flags captured, 4 were by Lucas Warrelman.
