Hillsborough Explores Replacing High School Track
The Hillsborough High School track is need of repair and the Board of Education is looking into ways on how to cover its replacement.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The Hillsborough High School track is need of repair and the Board of Education is beginning to look into ways on how to cover its replacement.
"At the moment, the board is looking at the useful life of the track and also the cost of chronic repairs. We have no immediate plans to replace the track, however, we will continue to evaluate it," Michael Callahan, Hillsborough school spokesman said.
Hillsborough BOE member and Operations Committee Chairman Gregory Gillette said the committee was looking for proposals to replace the track.

"We got figures and numbers but no official bids," Gillette said at the Jan. 27 board meeting. "Just to see how much it will cost."
Gillette noted the Operations Committee is also looking at ways to cover the cost such as exploring debt service aid or a no tax increase referendum, similar to the $35.4 million referendum recently passed in December for other improvements in the district.
