Hillsborough Fire Causes Moderate Damage To Home

Breaking: Heavy fire throughout a Zion Road home is being reported Wednesday night in Hillsborough.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Firefighters were busy Wednesday night with two house fires breaking out.

At 6:25 p.m., an active working fire was reported at a home at 339 Zion Road. The homeowner Jason Smith, 30, and any other occupants were not inside the home and no injuries were reported, Hillsborough Police reported.

The fire was extinguished, but the building suffered moderate damage to the rear and roof of the home, police reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Hillsborough Township Police Dept. and the Hillsborough Township Fire Safety Bureau. At this time it does not appear to be suspicious, police reported.

Zion Road was closed for about four hours while the fire was being extinguished and investigated. No injuries were reported by any of the emergency personnel that responded to the scene.
