Hillsborough High School Boys' Cross Country Races to Great Heights

County's and Skyland Conference Championship Successes

The Boys’ Cross Country team at Hillsborough High School is having another successful season. They have dominated this year and also won County's after coming in 2nd last year to Montgomery. Hillsborough finished with an average time of just under 17 minutes for the 5k race with Ryan Mitchel and Owen Szabo coming in the top ten. Leading the way for Hillsborough and competing in the upcoming State Tournament this year are Seniors Owen Szabo and Robert Mauer, Juniors Ryan Mitchel and Tyler Balas, Sophomores Will Shokoff and Kenan Yahi, and Freshman Chris Digricoli. In the recent Skyland Conference race, Szabo placed 14th coming in at 16:51. Coach Rosenthal, the HHS Boys’ Cross Country Coach for the past seven years noted, “The team this year is one of the tightest packs we have had, with only about 30 seconds separating our 1st through 5th runners. When a team is this close in ability their training is better and in turn their racing.
