Hillsborough High School Swim Teams Have Strong Seasons

Hillsborough Boys' and Girls' Swim Teams take Central Jersey State Sectional Championship titles.

Both the Boys’ and Girls’ Hillsborough High School Swim Teams had another strong end to their 2017-18 seasons.

The boys finished with a record of 6-4. They then advanced to and won the title of Central Jersey State Sectional Championship, beating Marlboro 123-47.

Coming into the meet, Marlboro recently upset Hunterdon Central, but was unable to defeat Hillsborough. Hillsborough took first in 10 of the 11 events. This was the second title for the Boys’ team in the past three years.

The girls finished with a record of 8-2, also taking the title of Central Jersey State Sectional Championship with a 103-67 win over Montgomery. This was the Girls’ third straight title.

“I had great senior leadership again this season, which is not only important for the younger swimmers, but it makes it a lot easier to have success in the state tournament,” said Coach Todd Sudol. “As a coach I am really proud of the team and their achievements this season.”
