4 New Police Officers Hired In Hillsborough

The officers Michael Liscik, Brian Polacik, Tiana Ramos, and Maurizio Toto were joined by their families and sworn in.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Four new police officers will take to the streets in Hillsborough after they were hired at the recent Township Committee meeting.

Hillsborough Township Police Chief Mike McMahon made the recommendation for the hires due to vacancies in the department.

"There are vacancies within the Police Department and after a thorough search and interview process, the top candidates are being hired to fill those vacancies," said Mayor Shawn Lipani.

The Township Committee acted on the chief's recommendation at the April 26 meeting. The officers Michael Liscik, Brian Polacik, Tiana Ramos, and Maurizio Toto were joined by their families and sworn in on April 27.

Officer Michael Liscik is 24 years old and a resident of Hillsborough. He is a recent alternate route graduate of the Essex County Police Academy. He has an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Raritan Valley Community College.

Officer Brian Polacik is 26 years old and a resident of Hamilton Township. He previously served with the Guttenberg Police Department and is a graduate of the Essex County Police Academy.

Officer Tiana Ramos is 31 years old and a resident of Oceanport. She previously served with the Avon-by-the-Sea Police Department and is a graduate of the Ocean County Police Academy. She has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Purdue University.

Officer Maurizio Toto is 26 years old and a resident of Woodbridge. He previously served with the Atlantic City Police Department and is a graduate of the Atlantic County Police Academy. He has an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Brookdale Community College.

said McMahon.
