Hillsborough Home Catches Fire Thursday Morning

Breaking: Matthew Road was closed for three hours while the fire was extinguished and investigated.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — An attached garage caught fire on Thursday morning damaging a Hillsborough home.

A 9-1-1 call came in around 7:29 a.m. on May 18 reporting a garage fire at 11 Matthew Road. The homeowners, Thomas and Stacie Raglione, were not inside at the time.

Responding fire officials were able to extinguish the blaze, which caused moderate damage to the garage along with smoke damage to the inside of the home, Hillsborough Police report.

No injuries were reported by any of the emergency personnel who responded to the scene.

Matthew Road was closed for three hours while the fire was extinguished and investigated.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hillsborough Township Police Department and Hillsborough Township Fire Safety Bureau. At this time it does not appear to be suspicious.
