Head Coach Kevin Carty was also honored with a proclamation after he was named the Courier News Coach of the Year.

Carty has led the Hillsborough High School Football Team for 11 seasons and earned his 100th career coaching victory in the Regional Championship win over Kingsway.

Carty has an overall record of 66-46 and the team has advanced to the playoffs in all but two seasons during his tenure. The Hillsborough Raiders finished this year 13-0, winning both the Central Group 5 sectional title and regional championship. This is the first state title since 2000 and the third in school history.

"The Mayor and the Hillsborough Township Committee, do hereby congratulate Kevin Carty for his exceptional coaching this past season and throughout his successful coaching career," said Lipani.

Lipani also announced the township will honor the team on Saturday at 11 a.m. with a tour through Hillsborough. The team will be escorted by Hillsborough Police with sirens blaring as they circle the township for residents to come out and support.

"Listen to the sirens and go out and cheer for our local Hillsborough football team. They are heroes," said Lipani.

The tour will include three buses for the team, police, and fire escorts and will begin and end at the high school.
