Hillsborough House Fire Under Investigation
The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire that broke out early Sunday morning.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A fire that broke out at a Hillsborough home early Sunday morning is under investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
The fire broke out at just after midnight on Dec. 30 on Starview Drive just off Amwell Road in the Flagtown section of Hillsborough. Flagtown firefighters were the first to arrive on scene to find they, "were challenged with a well-advanced fire," Flagtown Fire/Rescue - Hillsborough reported.

"Arriving personnel were confronted with a rapidly spreading fire involving an attached garage with extension to the rest of the house," Station 37 Fire reported.
The second alarm fire called for additional manpower and apparatus, and units to help battle the fire. Firefighters from throughout the township and several surrounding communities including Finderne Fire Department battled the fire for about two hours before getting it under control.

The fire is still under investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
No other information is being released at this time and Hillsborough Police are referring all inquires to SCPO. SCPO Deputy Chief Frances Roman told Patch they are currently working on a release. Check back as more information is released.
