Hillsborough Local Among 3 Charged With DWI In Raritan

A teen was also charged with trespassing and drug possession at a Raritan elementary school, according to the police blotter.

RARITAN, NJ — A Hillsborough local was among three people to be charged with driving while intoxicated in Raritan, according to the police blotter.

On Aug. 17 at 1:05 a.m., Gumercindo Lopez-Moreno, 40, of Hillsborough was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Route 206, Raritan Police report.

Moreno was also charged with driving without a license. Officer Timothy DeBerry investigated.

On Aug. 10 at 12:17 a.m.: Allen McGriff, 69, of Somerset, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Route 202. McGriff was also charged refusing to submit breath samples. Officer Benjamin Griffin investigated.

On Aug. 10 at 2:05 a.m.: Brandon Jimenez, 18, of Bridgewater and Andrea Chavez-Riveros, 19, of Raritan, were each arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Bell Avenue. Officer Jacob Sniscak investigated.

On Aug. 11 at 10:16 p.m.: Jorge Herrera, 22 and Ibrahim Abbakar, 22, both of Allentown, Pennsylvania, were each arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Bell Avenue. Officer Benjamin Griffin investigated.

On Aug. 14 at 2:59 a.m.: Amando Nila, 44, of Raritan, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Anderson Street. Sgt. Everett Holt investigated.

On Aug. 14 at 4:49 p.m.: Marquis Sheppard, 30, of North Plainfield, was arrested for hindering apprehension, failure to turn over a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Route 202. During the course of the incident, Sheppard provided officers with a fake name to avoid being arrested for multiple outstanding warrants. Officer Nicholas DePiano investigated.

On Aug. 14 at 10:54 p.m.: Toni Ising, 64, of Bridgewater, was arrested for hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on Old York Road. Ising provided officers with a false name to conceal the fact she was driving with a suspended driver’s license. Sgt. David Delesky investigated.

On Aug. 15 at 3:04 a.m.: Officer Sniscak was checking the outside of the John F. Kennedy School when he saw a 15-year-old boy from Raritan sitting on the playground. The teen then ran off into a wooded area but left behind identification and numerous bags of marijuana. The teen was later found near his home. He was charged with trespassing, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Aug. 16 at 1:32 a.m.: Karon Tinal, 22, of Toms River, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Orlando Drive. Officer Sniscak investigated.

During this same time period, six additional people were arrested for domestic violence offenses, warrants, and incidents being prosecuted with the assistance of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
