Hillsborough Local Arrested For Heroin Possession: Blotter

A Bedminster local was also arrested for driving while intoxicated in a separate incident in Bedminster, police report.

BEDMINSTER, NJ — A Hillsborough local was arrested for heroin possession last week in Bedminster township, police report. On April 18 at 9:30 a.m., Bedminster Police responded to the parking lot of the Kings Supermarket (450 Route 202/206) for a report of a reckless driver.

Subsequent to the investigation, Robert Lands Jr., 39 of Hillsborough was arrested for 2C:35-10A(1) (possession of controlled dangerous substance or analog (heroin)), 2C:36-2 (possession of drug paraphernalia), 39:4-50 (operating under the influence of liquor or drugs) and issued mv summonses for 39:4-49.1 (possession of controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle), 39:4-97 (careless driving), and 39:4-96 (reckless driving), Bedminster Police reported.

Lands was also arrested on two warrants out of Lawrence Twp. totaling $1,000. Lands was lodged in Somerset County Jail.

On April 21 at 4:13 p.m.: Bedminster Police responded to the area of Deerhaven Road for a report of a male attempting to sell magazines door to door without a permit. Subsequent to the investigation, Shawn Patrick Gatling, 44 of Cincinnati, Ohio was arrested on a warrant out of Chatham for $250. Gatling was unable to post bail and was released on his own recognizance pending a new court date. Gatling was advised he needed a permit from town hall to solicit. Gatling was transported to the train station without incident.

On April 21 at 11:29 p.m.: Bedminster Police initiated a motor vehicle stop on a 2012 black Audi S4 on Route 202/206 southbound near River Road. The vehicle came to a stop in the slow lane of Route 202/206 at the on ramp for Route 287 southbound, police reported. Subsequent to the investigation, Rafiq Wright, 26 of Mallard Lane in Bedminster was arrested for 39:4-50 (driving while intoxicated) and issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:4-98 (speeding) and 39:3-33 (unclear plate), Bedminster Police reported.

On April 22 at approximately 6:22 p.m.: While observing traffic at Hills Drive and Route 202/206 intersection, Bedminster Police observed a beige Chevy Equinox with an obstructed front windshield and obstructed rear license plate. A motor vehicle stop was conducted at Route 202/206 at the Bedminster-Bridgewater line. Subsequent to the investigation, Willieam Edward Vallier, 44 of Bridgewater was arrested on a traffic warrant out of East Orange for $145 and issued a motor vehicle summons for 39:3-33 (improper display/unclear plates). Vallier posted bail and was released.

On April 23 at approximately 11:46 p.m.: While observing traffic at the Bedminster Shell gas station on Route 206, Bedminster Police observed a silver Honda Accord traveling southbound on Route 206 with a broken rear passenger taillight. A motor vehicle stop was conducted at Route 202/206 just prior to the Route 287 southbound entrance ramp. Subsequent to the investigation, the driver, Julian Thompson, 19 of Vineland was arrested for two warrants out of Millville totaling $1,252 and issued motor vehicle summonses for 39:3-66 (maintenance of lamps) and 39:3-13.4(B) (probationary license after hours). The passenger, Jade Stevenson, 20 of Vineland was arrested for a warrant out of Vineland City for $550. Thompson and Stevenson were unable to post and were both released on their own recognizance pending new court dates.
