Hillsborough Local Charged With DWI After Running Out Of Gas
Multiple drug and warrants arrests were also reported in Montgomery recently.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — A Hillsborough woman was arrested after her car ran out of gas in Montgomery, police report.
On March 13, Montgomery Police Officer Ceccato encountered a vehicle stopped in the travel lane on Route 206 near Sunset Road.
Ceccato stopped to help and found the vehicle was out of gas. The driver, Candida Leonard, 39, of Hillsborough, was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages and drove the vehicle before it ran out of gas, Mongtomery Police report.

Leonard failed standard field sobriety tests and was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to the report.
Leonard was transported to headquarters for processing. Leonard was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath testing, and several other motor vehicle violations. She is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Municipal Township Court.

On March 12: Officer Verducci arrested Jose Kovacs Jr., 23, of Franklin for outstanding warrants from Edison Municipal Court and North Brunswick Municipal Court. Kovacs Jr. was a passenger in the vehicle. Kovacs Jr. was unable to post the $1,500 bail for each warrant, and was later turned over to North Brunswick Police.
On March 10 at about 12:21 a.m.: Tiffany Au, 24, of Princeton Junction was arrested for possession of marijuana. Au was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a suspicious incident. During the interaction marijuana was recovered from the vehicle. Au was arrested and transported to the Montgomery Township Police Department for arrest processing. Au was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams.
On March 10 at 12:33 p.m.: Montgomery Police stopped a 2006 Honda on County Rt. 518 near County Rt. 601 for speeding. During the stop, the driver, Julian Rojas-Pelaez, 21, of New Brunswick, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested, and transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released. He is due to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
On March 9 at 10:19 a.m.: Montgomery Police stopped a 2009 International tow truck on Route 206 near Benjamin Boulevard for a cell phone violation. The driver, Orlando L. Crespo, 22, of Trenton had an active traffic warrant for his arrest out of Cranbury. Crespo was arrested, and transported to police headquarters. He was processed, and released after posting bail. He is due to appear in Montgomery Municipal Court for his traffic violation.
On March 8 at 7:05 a.m.: Montgomery Police were dispatched to the area of Montgomery Road for a reported reckless driver. Officers located the vehicle, a 1994 Honda, operated by Phillip Jones, 43, of Henryville, Pennsylvania. A suspended NJ Driver’s License was located for Jones, as well as an active traffic warrant for his arrest out of Newton. Jones was arrested, and transported to police headquarters. He was processed, and released after posting bail. Jones is due to appear in Montgomery Municipal Township Court for his traffic violations.
On March 5 at about 5:30 a.m.: Gary Crabb, 53, of Montgomery was arrested for contempt of court. Crabb was involved in an altercation at ShopRite on Route 206. Further investigation revealed Crabb had outstanding warrants from Maplewood Municipal Court. Crabb was arrested and transported to Montgomery Township Police Department for arrest processing. The Maplewood Municipal Court provided Crabb with a new court date and he was released.
On Feb. 28: Nasson L. Harrington, 31, of Trenton was arrested following a motor vehicle stop. Montgomery Township Police Officer Balinski while on patrol performed a motor vehicle stop on a 2011 red Audi after Harrington drove north on Route 206 from the right turn only lane at Route 206 and Pike Run. While on the motor vehicle stop a strong odor of raw marijuana was detected. The vehicle was searched. A blunt of raw marijuana was located in the center console of the vehicle. Harrington admitted that the marijuana belonged to him. Harrington was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana. Harrington was processed at Montgomery Police headquarters. Harrington is scheduled for appearance in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
On Feb. 27 at about 3:30 p.m.: Mark Cardelucci 2nd, 32, of Burlington City was arrested for contempt of court. Cardelucci was arrested by Sgt. Gray during a motor vehicle stop on Route 206. Cardelucci was found to have active warrants from Camden City, Cherry Hill Township, and the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department. Cardelucci was arrested and ultimately transported to the Somerset County Jail when it was determined that he could not post the required bail. Cardelucci was issued a traffic ticket for failure to wear a seat belt.
On Feb. 26: Officer Giles arrested Dritan Asani, 28, of Belle Mead for an active warrant in the amount of $500 from Branchburg Municipal Court following a welfare check. Branchburg Municipal Court released Asani with a new court date.
On Feb. 25: Officer Verducci arrested Sharey Hizer, 26, of Trenton, for an active warrant for her arrest in the amount of $2,500 from Trenton City Court. Hizer was a passenger in the vehicle stopped by Officer Verducci, and she was the owner of the vehicle. Hizer was also charged with possessing a fraudulent vehicle insurance card, as well as a motor vehicle summons for no liability insurance. Hizer was released and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court. She was released with a new court date from Trenton City Court.
On Feb. 24 at about 1:30 p.m.: Michael Zelmore, 25, of South Bound Brook was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Zelmore was pulled over by Sgt. Gray for an equipment violation on Route 206 and further investigation resulted in the recovery of suspect marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Zelmore was arrested and transported to the Montgomery Township Police Department. Zelmore was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Zelmore was issued traffic tickets for failure to inspect, suspended registration, and possession of controlled dangerous substance(CDS) in a motor vehicle. Zelmore was released pending an appearance in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
On Feb. 23 at about 11:28 a.m.: Joseph Hart, 22, of Branchburg was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Hart was pulled over by Officer Parlow for an equipment violation. During the traffic stop drug paraphernalia was recovered from the vehicle. Hart was arrested and transported to the Montgomery Township Police Department for arrest processing. Hart was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a traffic ticket for failure to inspect. Hart was released pending an appearance in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
