Hillsborough Man Arrested On Child Porn Charges

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A Hillsborough man was arrested on child pornography charges after it was found he was using social media to get sexually explicit images and videos of children, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson announced.
Rolando Miranda, 38, of Hillsborough Township was arrested on Monday following a search of his Farm Road home at 6 a.m., Robertson said.
Multiple digital devices were taken to be further analyzed by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hillsborough Township Police department, along with special agents from the FBI.

Miranda's arrest came after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) reported he was engaging in sexually explicit online conversations with a minor, Robertson said.
An investigation found that Miranda was using multiple social media accounts to engage in sexually explicit conversations and to secure sexually explicit images and videos of children under the age of 18.

Miranda was arrested without incident at his residence, and he was charged with first degree manufacturing child pornography, third degree endangering the welfare of a child and third degree possession of child pornography.
Miranda was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
