Hillsborough Man Arrested For Shoplifting In Bridgewater

Bridgewater Police reported shoplifting, thefts to cars and homes and a driving while intoxicated arrest recently in the township.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A Hillsborough man was among two people arrested for shoplifting at Bridgewater businesses.

Johnathan Kersis, 29, of Hillsborough was arrested on Feb. 2 for shoplifting merchandise with an approximate value of $653 from Wegman’s at the Bridgewater Towne Center, Bridgewater Police report.

Kersis was charged with shoplifting. He was processed for the arrest and released with a pending court appearance.

On Feb. 1: Michael Smith, 21, of Far Rockaway, New York was arrested for shoplifting merchandise with
an approximate value of $100 from Footlocker at the Bridgewater Commons Mall. Smith was charged with shoplifting. He was processed for the arrest and released with a pending court appearance.

On Feb. 2: An employee of the Apple Store located at the Bridgewater Commons Mall reported a theft. Unknown actor(s) stole two Beats headphones and computer software from a display area. These items had a combined value of $929.

On Feb. 9: An employee of the Chimney Rock Inn located at 800 North Thompson Ave. reported a vehicle burglary. Unknown actor(s) smashed a window of a 2003 Ford F250 and removed a remote control for the snow plow from the vehicle.

On Feb. 9: An employee of Northeast Power Dry Inc. located at 1E Chimney Rock Road reported a vehicle burglary. Unknown actor(s) smashed a window of a 2003 Chevrolet K1500 and removed a remote control for the snow plow from the vehicle.

On Feb. 11: Stephen Moore, 40, of Bound Brook was arrested for DWI after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on East Main Street. Moore was processed for the arrest, and issued motor vehicle summonses for driving while intoxicated (DWI), refusal to submit to chemical testing of his breath, reckless driving, failure to maintain traffic lane and obstructed view. He was released with a pending court appearance.

On Feb. 12 at approximately 8:50 p.m.: A resident of Ten Broek Court reported a burglary to their
residence. Unknown actor(s) entered the residence stealing cash and electronic equipment.
