Hillsborough Man Arrested For Trying To Get Child Porn: SCPO

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A Hillsborough man was charged with trying to get child porn after sexually-explicit images of children were found on his laptop when he dropped it off to be repaired, authorities said.
Michael Iden, 46, of Deana Drive dropped off his HP Envy Notebook to an electronics store in Bridgewater on Sept. 13, 2018, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.
The technical support team saw the sexually-explicit images of children and called police, Robertson said.

The New Jersey Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (RCFL) searched Iden’s computer where they found Iden was trying to search for child pornography through his Internet browsing history, Robertson said.
On Monday, Aug. 5, 2019 at about 10:30 a.m., Iden was arrested at his Hillsborough home by detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Unit and officers from the Bridgewater Township Police Department.

Eden was charged with one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child for the attempted possession of child pornography. After being processed he was taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
