Hillsborough Man Found Sleeping In Car, Arrested For DWI: Blotter

Two Hillsborough men were among six to be arrested recently in the township, according to police.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Two Hillsborough men were among six to be arrested recently in the township, according to police.

Hillsborough Police Blotter:

On Feb. 15: Joseph Smerdon, 20, of Branchburg was arrested for Possession of Marijuana after being stopped in his vehicle on Route 206. He was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Underage Possession of Alcohol, DWI/Underage DWI, and Possessing an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On Feb. 23: Desiree Carlin, 25, of Bridgewater and Boldomero Espinosa-Martinez, 35, of Somerville were arrested for Hindering Apprehension after being stopped in their vehicle on Route 206. Both persons provided false identifying information for Ms Carlin, in order to avoid her being taken into custody for outstanding arrest warrants. Espinosa-Martinez was also charged with several traffic violations. He was processed and released pending a court appearance. Carlin was lodged in Somerset County Jail, after being unable to post her bail.

On Feb. 27: Todd Madsen, 44, of Hillsborough was arrested for DWI after he was found asleep in the driver's seat of his vehicle in a commercial parking lot on South Branch Road. His blood alcohol content was found to be above the legal limit. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On March 1: Maria Soto, 27, of Bridgewater was arrested for DWI after being stopped in her vehicle on Amwell Road. Her blood alcohol content was found to be above the legal limit. She was also charged with DWI within 1,000 feet of a School and several other traffic violations. She was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On March 2: Joseph Critelli, 27, of Hillsborough was arrested for Possession of Marijuana after being stopped in his vehicle on Route 206. He was also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, and Failure to Maintain Lane. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
