Unique Welded Permanent Jewelry Boutique Coming To Somerset County
Hillsborough local Melinda Barros loved getting welded bracelets with her daughter. Now she is bringing the unique experience to Somerville.
SOMERVILLE, NJ — After getting matching forever bracelets with her daughter in New York City, Melinda Barros of Hillsborough decided to bring the exciting experience to Somerville.
Barros is opening a welded permanent jewelry boutique called Forever Linxx this Memorial Day weekend at 2 Division Street, Suite 9, 2nd Floor, in Somerville. The grand opening event is from Friday, May 26 to Monday, May 29 with gift bags being given out and special pricing.
"Welded Jewelry is jewelry that you do not take off. It is permanently welded on (to itself, not to you). With the intention of never taking it off, thus being called Permanent Jewelry," said Barros.

While the idea of having something welded to you is a scary thought, Barros assured that the process is quite simple.
Instead of having a traditional clasp the bracelet, necklace, or anklet chain is custom fitted to your wrist. The ends are then welded together with a small zap.

Barros said the process is quick and painless.
Charms or more chains can also be added to give a stacked look. All chains are small and dainty and can simply be cut with scissors to remove it.
Barros offers a selection of chains to choose from including stainless steel, gold-filled, gold, or rose gold. Charms are also offered as well.
"My first bracelet was with my daughter on a mommy and me day to New York City. We got matching bracelets with star charms. Even when we are apart she always has something with her to make her feel close to me," said Barros. "That experience with her made me fall in love with Permanent Jewelry and want to share that with others to make it extra special for them."
From start to finish the process takes about 15 minutes and the process of welding only take a couple of seconds, said Barros.
"Besides getting a fun and exciting experience it can also be a special experience. Permanent jewelry is the ultimate friendship bracelet or a fun girls' night out. It can be something special to do with your significant other, or with a family member," said Barros.
