Hillsborough Mom Shares Scary Encounter, Police Investigating

Hillsborough mom is sharing her fearful encounter with a suspicious van while walking on Sunday morning.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Police are investigating an incident where a township mom had a scary encounter with a suspicious van while walking on Sunday morning.

"The safety of our residents is paramount so we don't want to leave any stone unturned," said Hillsborough Police Lt. Jim Omert.

The township resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said she was walking alone on Andria Avenue in "broad daylight" when a large green van pulled over on the side of the road.

"I noticed something seemed wrong. He blocked my next step. As I saw him open his driver side door something told me to run... he jumped back in his van and sped up to turn around and follow me," she said.

The resident ran to the other side of the road and rang every door bell until someone opened up and called 911.

The police responded and are investigating.

"Long story short I want to send out a WARNING! This sh-- is REAL some evil people are lurking even in safe towns, SAFE AREAS! You need to pay attention for all I know I was being followed for miles. My biggest fear is not being around for my children and for any harm coming to my children!" She said.
