Hillsborough Mom's 'Light Shines Bright' Despite Cancer Diagnosis
A fundraiser has been set up for Kristen Donahue, mother of 3, as she undergoes an aggressive plan of chemotherapy and surgery.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough mother of three and Montgomery teacher, Kristen Donahue, has spent a lifetime putting others first. Now, the community is stepping up to help her in her time of need.
On Nov. 10, Donahue was diagnosed with synovial cell sarcoma, a very rare type of soft tissue cancer. Treatment will include an aggressive plan of chemotherapy and surgery.
"Needless to say, her fight against the disease will be emotional and physically taxing on her and her family," according to a GoFundMe set up for Donahue and her family.

Donahue has been described as an amazing mother to Jordan (24), Ozzie (10), and Ellie (5), a committed partner, caring friend, beloved daughter/sister/cousin/aunt, and a devoted teacher in the Montgomery Township school district for almost two decades.
"Kristen loves her students and the incredible staff she works with. She has a magnetic personality and infectious sense of humor that makes everyone smile. At the same time, she is tough. Her resilience is admirable. She never backs down from a fight," according to the GoFundMe.

The fundraiser was launched on Monday by her family Jack, Steve and Mike Donahue in hopes to raise $50,000 and "help relieve the financial stress brought on by her diagnosis."
As of Tuesday, the fundraiser has already hit close t $25,000.
The fundraiser will continue to update those on her progress every few weeks.
