Hillsborough Music Teacher, Children's Singer Arrested For Child Porn: US Attorney
Breaking: The Hillsborough man performed for children at synagogues, Jewish community centers, camps and conventions nationwide.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A music teacher and singer/songwriter from Hillsborough, who performs for children at synagogues, Jewish community centers, camps and conventions nationwide, was arrested Tuesday with receiving and distributing images of child sexual abuse, acting U.S. Attorney William E. Fitzpatrick announced.
Eric S. Komar, 46, was arrested by special agents of the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. He is charged by complaint with one count of receiving and distributing child pornography, Fitzpatrick said.
Komar made his initial appearance today before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge James B. Clark III in Newark federal court and was remanded without bail.

Komar used a peer-to-peer file-sharing program to obtain and distribute images and videos that included images of prepubescent children being sexually abused, according to documents filed in this case and statements made in court.
Komar could face a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison, a maximum potential penalty of 20 years in prison, and a $250,000 fine.

Fitzpatrick credited special agents of the FBI, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Timothy Gallagher; members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson and County Chief of Detectives John W. Fodor; the Hillsborough Township Police Department, under the direction of Chief Darren Powell, and the N.J. Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory, with the investigation leading to the charges.
