Hillsborough Named Among 'Best' Places To Live In NJ And America

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Township was named as one of the best places to live in America and the Garden State for 2023, according to a new set of rankings released by Niche.

Hillsborough Township was ranked as the 92nd best place to live in New Jersey out of 641 and the 1,377th best place to live in America out of 17,916.

The "Best Places to Live" rankings include cities, city neighborhoods and suburbs. Niche defines a place as a "non-rural town" with a population of 1,000 or more, including neighborhoods, suburbs and cities. Niche also separately ranked the best cities, neighborhoods and suburbs to live in.

The platform released the 2023 Best Places to Live in America list on Monday, along with rankings by state.

Hillsborough Township received an overall Niche grade of A+. Here’s how Niche graded Hillsborough Township in the following categories:

• Crime & Safety: B-
• Housing: B+
• Nightlife: B
• Good for Families: A+
• Diversity: A-
• Jobs: B+
• Weather: B-
• Cost of Living: B-
• Health & Fitness: A
• Outdoor Activities: A
• Commute: B-

Hillsborough Township also ranked as the 13th best place to live in the Somerset County area, the 93rd best place to raise a family out of 639 and the 65th best public schools out of 573 in New Jersey.
