“I became interested in music at age 5, while listening to my father’s vinyl records,” Suknov said. “He played a variety of melodies for me, from classical to pop. Experiencing each music genre, triggered a life-long love affair with music.”

She specifically worked with the piano.

“Piano is considered the base instrument to learn melody and harmony and a great starting point for music education,” Suknov said.

Passing on her passion, Suknov began teaching a wide range of local students out of her home in Hillsborough.

Taking her love of music one step forward, Suknov composed “Three Circus Pieces.”

“I wrote this book for piano teachers and their students,” Suknov said. “Piano educators are always looking for new and interesting piano solos for student recitals. Most importantly, I want kids to be happy and enjoy the pieces they are performing.”

Larisa’s piano recitals are known for their humor and levity among her students and their parents. She successfully incorporated these elements into her music book.

Her book is available now at Juilliard School Store.
