Hillsborough Pizzeria Is 'Impacting Lives One Slice At A Time'

Bella Pizza custom-built a concession trailer with the mission of giving back to others by donating a portion of proceeds from each event.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Akhtar Farzaie is on a mission to impact as many lives as possible one slice at a time - and he is accomplishing that with his concession pizza trailer.

Farzaie custom-built the trailer just about a year ago and has since been donating a portion of the proceeds from each event booked to charity.

"My key mission is to do what I can," said Farzaie, owner of Bella Pizza at 340 S Branch Road in Hillsborough.

The proceeds are donated to a variety of charities throughout Somerset County including the Agape House, Raritan Food Pantry, Hillsborough Food Pantry, SHIP, and even to local families in need.

Donations are not always monetary, Farzaie said he will sometimes use the proceeds to buy ingredients to donate pizza, buy socks, pay for back-to-school supplies or a haircut.

"Whatever is in need, we try to provide that," said Farzaie.

The Bella Pizza truck can be booked for private parties but Farzaie also shows up at sporting events or festivals in the area including the upcoming Rotary Fair.

Frazaie wants locals to know that by booking an event they are a part of his mission of giving back as well.

"If you are booking me then you are a part of this great cause," said Frazaie.

In the end, his mission of helping others one slice at a time is his ultimate goal of spreading the news of his truck.

"If I can inspire one restaurant just to do something like that or one person I am happy," said Frazaie.
