Hillsborough Protesters Rally Against Warehouses In The Township

The rally was held at the corner of Route 206 and Amwell Road in Hillsborough.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough’s local citizens’ group, S.W.A.T., held a protest rally on Saturday opposing the seven large-scale warehouses proposed in the township.

The rally at the corner of Route 206 and Amwell Road was "well-attended and, judging by the honking, well-received," said resident Susan Gulliford.

According to S.W.A.T., the proposed warehouses range in size from 85,000 to 389,000 square feet, are all located within 500 feet of residential neighborhoods, and are in flood-prone areas.

"The construction of these enormous buildings will generate hundreds of 80,000-pound trucks on local roadways, increase toxic air emissions, and exacerbate flooding," wrote S.W.A.T.
