Hillsborough School Board Election Results Certified: See Final Tallies

Candidates running for 3 seats on the Board of Education included Cynthia Nurse, Paul Marini, Cassandra Kragh, and Pritpal Phanda.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — It's a wrap: Both referendum questions have passed and three candidates have emerged victorious in the 2023 race for Hillsborough Township Board of Education.

The Somerset County Clerk's Office confirmed Wednesday that the election results from Nov. 7 have been certified.

In Hillsborough, there were four candidates running for three open seats on the board (the term lasts for three years). Incumbents Cynthia "Cindy" DeCavalcante Nurse and Paul Marini along with Cassandra Kragh emerged victorious over Pritpal Phanda.

Here are the final, certified results as per the Somerset County Clerk's Office:

  • Nurse - 7,472 votes (31.38%)
  • Kragh - 6,383 votes (26.81%)
  • Marini - 6,287 votes (26.41%)
  • Phanda - 3,486 votes (14.64%)

The two referendum questions for security and more staff both passed.

Security:

  • Yes - 6,299 votes (54.19%)
  • No - 5,324 votes (45.81%)

Staff

  • Yes - 6,503 votes (56.67%)
  • No - 4,973 votes (43.33%)
