Hillsborough Schools Get $25K Lowe's Grant For Home Maintenance Classroom

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Township Public Schools was awarded a $25,000 Lowe’s Community Impact Grant that will be used to upgrade a classroom at Hillsborough High School.

According to the district, the money will help transform Room 505 at HHS into a learning space for an upcoming Home Maintenance course.

The district said the grant funds are designated for improvements including upgraded tables, cabinets and storage fixtures.

The project also includes new flooring, paint and trim, along with brand new tools and hands-on training materials for students in the course.

"This grant is going to make a massive difference for our students," said the district.

According to the district, the upgraded room is intended to support two goals for students.

The Home Maintenance course is meant to provide career education for students interested in trade careers and other hands-on industries.

The district said the course is also designed to give college-bound students practical skills they can use to maintain their own homes in the future.

"Thank you to Lowe's for supporting our schools, our students, and our community," said the district.
