Borek said there seems to be no single setting or location attributed to the cause of the positive case increase.

As far as the age range of the new cases, Borek said it is hitting residents "across the board."

"Pretty much every age bracket is seeing an increase," Borek said.

The Hillsborough Health Department is planning on sending out precautions for residents to take next week as college students return home for the holidays.

Gov. Phil Murphy signed an executive order Thursday granting municipalities and counties the option to close nonessential businesses after 8 p.m.

Borek said Hillsborough is not addressing this restriction in the township.
