Hillsborough Sees Lowest Amount Of New COVID-19 Cases In Months
Hillsborough also had sad news as the township's total amount of coronavirus cases surpassed 2,000 and two more residents died.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — It was a mix of good and sad news for Hillsborough on Friday.
Hillsborough Committeeman Doug Tomson said the township saw the lowest amount of new coronavirus cases in months with six new cases on Friday.
The last time the township saw six or fewer new coronavirus cases reported was on Oct. 23, 2020.

Yet the township also reported its total amount of coronavirus cases surpassed 2,000 and two more residents died on Friday. The two residents bring the township's total deaths to 86 since last March.
"Mixed feelings today," said Hillsborough Committeeman Doug Tomson of the news. "Please keep those who lost their lives in your thoughts and prayers."

Here is a breakdown of the positive COVID-19 cases by age:
- Age 0 to 9 - 72
- Age 10 to 19: 226
- Age 20 to 29: 297
- Age 30 to 39: 209
- Age 40 to 49: 299
- Age 50 to 59: 359
- Age 60 to 69: 231
- Age 70 to 79: 116
- Age 80 to 89: 112
- Age 90 to 99: 81
- Age 100-plus: 3
Here is a breakdown of the COVID-19 related deaths by age:
- Age 40 to 49: 1
- Age 50 to 59: 1
- Age 60 to 69: 4
- Age 70 to 79: 17
- Age 80 to 89: 36
- Age 90 to 99: 25
- Age 100-plus: 2
