Hillsborough ShopRite Employees Featured On Special Edition Cheerios

Dina Sandford and Linda Shemel will be featured on a Cheerios box in recognition of their efforts to support regional food banks.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Two ShopRite of Hillsborough associates will be featured on a special-edition Cheerios box for 2024 in recognition of their fundraising efforts to support regional food banks.

The special-edition Cheerios box was unveiled at the store at 601 Rt 206 and Amwell Road on April 16 featuring Dina Sandford and Linda Shemel who were the winners of the annual ShopRite Partners In Caring Cheerios Contest, sponsored in partnership with General Mills.

Associates at the ShopRite of Hillsborough raised nearly $10,000 for local food banks this year.

"It’s a tradition that recognizes ShopRite associates for fighting hunger in the communities they serve," according to ShopRite.

ShopRite associates across hundreds of stores compete each fall in a friendly competition sponsored by ShopRite and General Mills, the annual ShopRite Partners In Caring Cheerios Contest. ShopRite associates came together to collect donations at checkout, helping raise more than $1.5 million for regional food banks in several states.

The 52 top fundraising ShopRite stores selected associates to be featured on special-edition Cheerios boxes, sold exclusively at ShopRite and unveiled during in-store celebrations from March to May.

Each winning store will also receive prize money ($5,000 for the top five stores, and $2,500 for the remaining winning stores) to be donated to local food pantries chosen by the respective store teams.
