Hillsborough Speeder Clocks In At 103MPH On Local Road: Police

4 other Hillsborough locals were also arrested for marijuana possession and shoplifting, according to the police blotter.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A Hillsborough resident, who was driving his vehicle at 103 mph in a 45 mph zone, was arrested on multiple charges, police report.

Oscar Medina, 20, of Hillsborough was charged with obstruction of justice, reckless driving and speeding after he was observed speeding on Amwell Road on Aug. 12, Hillsborough Police report.

When an officer attempted to stop Medina, he sped away and parked his vehicle and hid in his residence before being located by officers, police reported.

He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On Aug. 1: Mikhail Malinine, 31, of Hillsborough was arrested for possession of marijuana after being stopped for jaywalking on Route 206. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to use a crosswalk. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On Aug. 3: Sylwia Lucyszyn, 40, of Manville was arrested for shoplifting at the Kohl's store on Route 206. She concealed various items of clothing, jewelry and cosmetics on her person and exited the store with them. The value of the stolen items was $347. She was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On Aug. 6: Jessica Sindo, 21, of Perth Amboy was arrested for possession of marijuana after her vehicle was involved in a two-car crash on East Mountain Road. She was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On Aug. 9: Tre Carwell, 24, of Easton, Pa. was arrested for possession of marijuana after being stopped in his vehicle on Route 206. He was also charged with use of a cell phone while driving. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On Aug. 9: Michael Gonzalez, 30, of North Bergen was arrested for possession of marijuana after being stopped in his vehicle on Route 206. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, along with several motor vehicle offenses. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On Aug. 10: Christine Saurers, 37, of Hillsborough was arrested for shoplifting at the Kohl's store on Route 206. She concealed various items of clothing and household goods in a tote bag and exited the store with them. The value of the stolen items was $267. She was processed and released pending a court appearance.

On Aug. 15: Hakeem Cofield, 26, of Plainfield and Sherman Martin, 24, of Hillsborough were both arrested for possession of marijuana after officers responded to the QuickChek store on Route 206 on a report of to men causing a disturbance in the store. Sherman was also charged with hindering apprehension for providing false identifying information to officers in order to avoid being arrested for outstanding warrants. Cofield was released pending a court appearance. Sherman was turned over to the Bridgewater Township Police Department after being unable to post bail on his warrants.

On Aug. 19: Youhannes Roberts, 31, of Hillsborough was arrested for possession of marijuana after being stopped in his vehicle on New Amwell Road. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane and driving an unregistered vehicle. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
