Hillsborough Student To Compete In National History Day

Auten Road Intermediate ​School student, Hailey Desai​, will compete at the National History Day Contest from June 10 to 14.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Auten Road Intermediate School student, Hailey Desai, will be joining other middle and high-school students from across the country to compete at the National History Day Contest from June 10 to 14 at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.

Desai earned her place in the national contest after competing on May 5 at the New Jersey History Day state competition at William Paterson University of New Jersey.

Desai and her project "Thirteen Day Crisis" will compete under the Junior Exhibit. She thanks her teachers are Pat Sellar and Nancy Patrick who were supporting her throughout the year for the competition.

New Jersey History Day is a year-long educational program designed for students in grades 6 through 12.
Throughout the school’s year, students conduct research of primary and secondary resources to prepare presentations based on annual theme. The theme for 2018 is Conflict and Compromise in History. The program culminates in a series of contests held at the regional, state and national levels.
