Hillsborough Students Collect 220 Pajamas For Those In Need

Woodfern Elementary School students donated 220 pairs of brand-new pjs as part of the Scholastic Reading Club Great Pajama Drive.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Woodfern Elementary School students in Hillsborough donated 220 pairs of brand-new pajamas as part of the Scholastic Reading Club Great Pajama Drive.

The pajamas are sent to Scholastic who will match each set of donated pajamas with a book as part of the company’s ninth annual Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive.

The pajamas and books will then be donated to the Pajama Program, a nonprofit organization that provides new pajamas and books to children in need. The organization works with more than 3,600 receiving organizations nationwide including group homes, foster care and social service organizations, shelters, Head Starts programs, and others.

The drive began four years about by Woodfern’s third grade teachers with the goal of supporting children in need by helping them shed the stresses of the day by putting on a new pair of cozy pajamas and letting their imagination wander with a wonderful bedtime story.

“We are proud of our students and school for coming together and giving back to the community by helping promote a better bedtime for those in need," stated Stacey Dzvileski, Woodfern School third grade teacher.
