Hillsborough to Swear in New Police Chief

Hillsborough, NJ -- A new police chief will be appointed tonight at Hillsborough’s Committee meeting.

Darren R. Powell, who is currently serving as Acting Chief, will be sworn in and promoted at the Jan. 26 meeting.

Along with Powell’s promotion, the committee will introduce a proclamation honoring Gene Strupinsky, retired Hillsborough Township Business Advocate and a proclamation honoring the Hillsborough High School Cross Country Team.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal building at 379 South Branch Road in Hillsborough.
