Hillsborough Voters Pass School Referendum

Voters passed the referendum proposing $2 million in improvements at Hillsborough High School and Hillsborough Middle Schools.

Hillsborough, NJ -- Last night, voters passed the referendum proposing $2 million in improvements at Hillsborough High School and Hillsborough Middle Schools.

The final vote came down to 1,548 to pass the referendum over 475 who voted no. A total of 26,783 residents, which is an average of 7.55% of voters, came out to vote on Tuesday.

The referendum called for by the Hillsborough Board of Education includes making facility improvements include replacing the artificial turf at the high school which will cost $608,048. And repairing the middle school parking lot including paving, drainage upgrades, and traffic control improvements. This will cost a total of $1,426,461.

  • 2, Mun Bldg (24,26,28,29,30) - 235 yes and 89 no
  • 3, MMOG (2,4,12,13,14) - 165 yes and 56 no
  • 4, MMOG (15,16,17,19,23) - 204 yes and 44 no
  • 5, HHS (31,32,33,) - 107 yes and 21 no
  • 6, HMS (5,6,7) - 141 yes and 36 no
  • 7, HHS (18,20,22) - 148 yes and 31 no
  • 8, Wood Road (9,11,25,27) - 280 yes and 57 no
  • * Millstone Boro - 17 yes and 14 no
  • Vote by Mail (HB and MS Combined) - 70 yes and 53 no
