The Hillsborough Youth Wrestling program began their season in Somerville with the Junior Varsity team earning a victory in a Raritan Valley matchup. The Raiders outscored Somerville 53-40 in an exciting match. The team jumped out early with major decisions by Logan McDermid and Jason Roser. Jackson Jankowicz, Austin Quandt and Justin LeBron followed with pins, while Danny Guerrero won by decision.
The team followed with a match against Watchung Hills and were knocked off 60-18. Logan McDermid, Austin Quandt, Justin LeBron and Danny Guerrero picked up their 2nd wins of the year, with Quandt getting his 2nd fall. Donoven Nicolas also won to close out the scoring for the Raiders.
Brett Lockburner, Michael Szczecina, Brian Quabeck, Tom Rice, Brian O'Kane, Tyler Oram and Jack Morris also competed in exhibition matches and represented the program well with their effort.

The wrestlers from the Central Jersey, Raritan Valley and exhibition team will compete this weekend in Kenilworth in an open Tournament. The Central Jersey and Raritan Valley teams will continue their League matches next Saturday, January 4th. The Varsity team will host Union while the JV team will travel to Branchburg.
