Hillsborough's Family Campout & Fishing Derby Coming August 1

Ann Van Middlesworth Park will once again turn into a campsite for families on Friday, August 1 for the annual Family Campout.

Bring your tent and your family and enjoy a night of camping under the starts.

Pre-registration is required.  Dinner will be provided for an additional fee.  Registration is available on the Parks & Recreation website.

The David L. Thomas, Sr. Memorial Fishing Derby is held in conjunction with the Family Campout and is open to children ages 14 and under.  Participants must be accompanied by an adult.  Young fishers will try to catch fish in the pond at Ann Van Middlesworth Park for a chance to win prizes!  Pre-registration is required for the Fishing Derby.

For children and families not interested in fishing, there will be a lot of other activities, including kickball and a DJ.

When the sun sets, it's time for a night hike and movie under the stars.

Complete information and registration is available on the Parks & Recreation website.  Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter for updates also!
