Hillsborough's Supervisor Of World Languages Appointed In Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — Enrique Pincay was unanimously appointed as Westfield's new Supervisor of World Languages and ELL (English Language Learners) by the Westfield Board of Education during their Tuesday night meeting.

Pincay's appointment will go into effect on Aug. 1.

Pincay currently holds the same position in the Hillsborough Township Public Schools, a school district with nine schools and 7,500 students.

His new responsibilities will include establishing curriculum objectives, acting as a resource for teachers, evaluating teachers and students, and modeling continuing professional growth and learning.

A graduate of Kean University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bilingual Education, Pincay achieved a Master of Arts from Rutgers University in Teaching Methodology and Best Practices. He also holds a supervisor certificate issued by the state of New Jersey.

“With 11 years of experience as a supervisor, 9 years as a teacher and two years as a bilingual/ESL consultant, Mr. Pincay comes to us highly qualified," said Superintendent Margaret Dolan. “Equally impressive were the highly positive comments from his colleagues during our district’s site visit."

Pincay fills the position of former Westfield Public Schools Supervisor of World Languages, David Greer, who enthusiastically endorsed Pincay’s appointment. Following a temporary assignment last year with the NJ Department of Education, Dr. Greer recently accepted a senior position as Director, Office of Academics in the NJDOE.

Robert Roth, who has been a World Languages Supervisor in the Westfield Public Schools for 36 years, returned in an interim role which will conclude at the end of the 2016-2017 school year when Pincay joins the district.
