Hillsborough's Top Democratic Presidential Campaign Contributors

Super Tuesday is right around the corner.

Literally.

Tuesday, March 1, 13 states will hold their primaries.

Looking at campaign contributions for the Democrats, Hilary Clinton is emerging as a front runner. She has already brought in the most donations with $2,698,782 in total from the Garden State, according to Federal Election Commission (FEC) data.

The former First Lady, New York Senator, and U.S. Secretary of State Clinton has brought in $145,806 from ZIP codes that begin with 088, which includes towns in central and upper Somerset County like Bridgewater, Hillsborough and Basking Ridge.

Democrat Bernie Sanders has raised $50,037 from ZIP codes that begin with 085.

Individuals are limited to direct donations of $2,700 per candidate in an election cycle, according to FEC regulations.

A total of 25 individuals with a ZIP code beginning with 088 have contributed that maximum amount to Clinton. Sanders has not yet received the maximum contribution from a resident in the 088 ZIP code.

The four local people in the 08844 and 08807 ZIP codes gave the top donation to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, according to the FEC:

3. CHUNG YANG, $2,700 (08807)

The New Jersey Democratic and Republican primaries are on June 7.
