Hillsborough's Top Republican Presidential Campaign Contributors

Super Tuesday is just around the corner. As the party nomination season approaches the finish line, two favorites have emerged on each side: Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump.

Trump, a business mogul, has self-financed his campaign, although he does still receive noteworthy contributions.

Although he is no longer in the running, Garden State Governor Chris Christie actually raised the most donations in New Jersey with $3,631,255, according to publicly available contribution data from the Federal Election Commission.

Here’s how much the other Republican candidates have taken in from New Jerseyians:

• Florida Sen. Marco Rubio — $549,587
• Texas Sen. Ted Cruz — $491,758
• Neurosurgeon Ben Carson — $366,694
• Donald Trump — $44,600

Individuals are limited to direct donations of $2,700 per candidate in an election cycle, according to FEC regulations.
