House Hit By Lightning During Passing Thunderstorms In Somerset County
A small deck fire was sparked as a result of the lightning strike as well, said police.
MONTGOMERY, NJ — A fire sparked after a house was hit by lightning in Montgomery on Wednesday, said police.
On July 25 at 3:09 p.m., Montgomery Police, Montgomery Fire Stations 45 and 46, Rocky Hill Fire, and Montgomery EMS were called to a home on Bronson Way for the report that the house was struck by lightning during the passing thunderstorms, said Montgomery Police.
A small fire sparked under their deck, which the resident was able to extinguish on their own, said police.

The resident also said an outdoor gas line may have been hit. PSE&G came to the scene.
No one was injured. Fire personnel and PSE&G remained on the scene to investigate.
