Injured Man Found Lying Next To Train Tracks In Somerset County

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the Manville man's injuries.

MANVILLE, NJ — An injured 69-year-old Manville man was found lying next to the railroad tracks in Manville, said authorities.

On Monday, Sept. 11 at around 7 a.m., Manville Police were called to the railroad tracks near North Street and North 14th Avenue after a passerby noticed the man lying next to the rails, said Manville Police Officer in Charge Lieutenant Craig Jeremiah.

Police began CPR and provided medical treatment along with Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.

The man was taken by ambulance to an area hospital for continued treatment.

Manville Police Detectives are working with Special Agents from the Norfolk Southern Police Department to determine the cause of this man’s injuries.

The rails were closed to train traffic for around two hours, but have now been reopened.
