Jeffrey Wright
My name is Jeffrey Wright and I am asking for your vote for Hillsborough Township Committee. In 2014, my wife and I chose Hillsborough as our forever home to raise our family and ensure the best possible future for our children.
I am a career financial advisor and spend every day helping my clients prepare and plan for their years to come. I will bring a much needed forward thinking approach to every decision, vote, and action I take as Township Committeeman.

Hillsborough is moving in the wrong direction. In 2013, before Mayor DelCore's most recent election, Hillsborough was #16 in Money Magazine's 'Best Places to Live'. In 2015 we fell to #30. Today, we don't even crack the top 100.
Our town has cut services like EMS, public safety, and education, putting our senior citizens and families at risk. Meanwhile, Mayor Frank DelCore has given politically connected developers massive tax giveaways, forcing our taxes higher. Thousands of new residential units are being rushed through approval with no effective plans to fix our roads or make Hillsborough affordable for our senior citizens.
That is why as Township Committeeman, I will:
- Create a nonpartisan Citizen’s Budget Review Committee to cut wasteful spending, increase government transparency, and make Hillsborough more affordable for our seniors.
- Commission a township-wide economic study to attract new businesses, grow new industries, fully fund our schools, and reduce tax burdens on homeowners.
- Create a sustainable 20-year road-resurfacing plan that will save millions of dollars compared to our current wasteful system of patchwork, as-needed repairs.
My mother was a career public school teacher and my father was a union carpenter. Their values taught me that if you work hard and play by the rules, you should be able to afford to raise your family in a safe community with good schools and retire there.
With your support, I will work for you and represent these hard-working middle-class values that make Hillsborough a wonderful place to call home.
Let’s work together and create the changes we want to see.
