Large Mulch/Wood Chip Fire Extinguished In Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Volunteer firefighters battled a fire involving a large mulch/wood chip pile on Wednesday night.

On July 10 at 6:45 p.m., Hillsborough Police Officers went along with the Hillsborough Fire Department to 265 Route 206 for the report of a mulch fire.

Owners of the property reported embers from a nearby controlled fire spread to a nearby pile of firewood, mulch, and a tree, said Hillsborough Police Captain Scott W. Mc Carthy.

The fire was put out by volunteer firefighters and there was no damage to any structures. There were no injuries, said Mc Carthy.
