Letter To The Editor: Impressed By Candidates Personal Commitment

One benefit of running for public office is getting to meet more people in your representative district.

One benefit of running for public office is getting to meet more people in your representative district. In the June primary I ran for Democratic District Committee in District #28 of Hillsborough although I have never been politically active, because I believed in what John and Thuy Anh stood for.

Accompanied by John Beggiato and Thuy Anh Le, I was consistently impressed by how engaging they were with voters on stoops, in doorways, and occasional kitchen tables. Along with meeting my neighbors, I have gotten to know John & Thuy Anh as hard working and thoughtful people.

In this season of campaigning, I’ve accompanied them again meeting still more of my ‘neighbors’ and hearing their concerns and enthusiasm about living in Hillsborough. Many people recognize John from Roycefield Swim Club and Thuy Anh from her dedication as a Board of Education member or Girl Scouts.

Most importantly, they recognize them for their educational efforts in helping the voters understand that the current Township Committee wanted to divert money from Open Space Funding to other unspecified purposes last year. They have stepped up in many volunteer positions and are recognized as people who get things done.

Please join me in getting out to vote on Tuesday Nov. 4th for the Le/Beggiato team. They will work for inclusive government. Take steps to make your voice heard.
