Local Atletes Compete in Punt-Pass-Kick Competition

About 100 local athletes competed in the Punt-Pass-Kick competition Saturday at the Triangle Football Complex. The event was sponsored by the Junior Raiders and was the first time it was held in Hillsborough.

The NFL Punt-Pass-Kick (PPK) program is a national skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 15 to compete separately against their peers. Saturday's competition was the first round with the top-three finishers in each category moving on to the October sectional event, which will also be in Hillsborough. Team championships will be held in late October through December. The national finals will be held in January at one of the NFL Divisional playoff games.

The winners included:

Age 10-11 boys: 1st Place Ryan McCaffery (194), 2nd Place Mark Kwiatek (168), 3rd place Jacob Schmidt (163)

Age 12-13 boys: 1st Place Ryan Beadle (340), 2nd Place Ben Pasternack (291), 3rd place Mike Everett (214)

Age 14-15 boys: 1st Place Ryan Vincent (233), 2nd Place Connor Genes (195)

 Age 8-9 girls: 1st Place Katie Rygiel (76), 2nd Place Robin Metallo (66), 3rd Place Morgan Krempasky (48)

Age 10-11 girls: 1st Place Olivia Johnsen (90), 2nd Place Jayna Moore (82), 3rd Place Julia Kwiatek (61)

Age 12-13 girls: 1st place Shavonne Leacy (258)
