Local arts center to host open Nutcracker rehearsal

Watch advanced dancers rehearse two of the Nutcracker's most iconic dances, visit the local arts center.

On Thursday Aug. 26, members of the local community are invited to join the New Jersey Youth Ballet as they rehearse for their production of Nutcracker. The Dance Connection will be holding an open rehearsal of it's Nutcracker from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. All are invited to see ballet mistress Jacqueline Lorenzi work with advanced dancers on two of The Nutcracker's most iconic scenes.

Over the past two weeks, advanced ballerinas from ages 12 to 18 have already begun rehearsing. The pre-professional dancers have been working on both Waltz of the Flowers and Waltz of the Snowflakes, two of the most well-known sections of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker.

Everyone is welcome to visit on Thursday for the open rehearsal. Children from ages two to 92 can meet the dancers, get an exclusive look at the beginning stages of a production of Nutcracker and see the young dancers as they take on the iconic dances. The dancers are looking forward to seeing the public, all are invited to bring friends, family and acquaintances.
