Hillsborough, NJ — Stop & Shop in Hillsborough is closing its doors.
The last day for the 649 US 206 location will be Aug. 11 as its lease has expired, confirmed James Keenoy, a Stop & Shop spokesman.
Hillsborough residents have speculated on Facebook borough groups, offering possible reasons for the closure: the store's rent is too high, the complex where it is located is doing poorly band more. No confirmation has come from Stop & Shop about this.
