SKILLMAN, NJ — Congressman Tom Malinowski (District-7) continues his State and Local Tax (SALT) Tax Deduction Listening Tour with stops in Skillman and Lambertville on Saturday.

Malinowski will host roundtable-style conversations with area residents to hear about the loss of their SALT, the impact it has had on their bottom line, and to receive feedback on the best approach forward to ease the tax burden on residents.

The SALT deduction traditionally was deducting real estate taxes as well as either income taxes or sales taxes paid to state and local governments. Changes to the tax code capped that deduction at $10,000 per household. In high tax states like New Jersey, the loss of that deduction is reducing returns in the Garden State.
