Man Charged With Burglarizing Franklin Municipal Building
Several cash registers were turned over and ransacked. A laptop worth $2,500, a cell phone worth $700 and $70 in cash were also missing.

FRANKLIN, NJ — A man has been charged with burglarizing a Franklin Township Municipal building on Demott Lane Friday night.
Cleaning personnel notified police of the burglary on Feb. 15 at 10:26 p.m. who saw that an office window was pushed in and unhinged, according to Franklin Police.
Several cash registers were turned over and ransacked. A laptop valued at $2,500, a cell phone valued at $700 and $70 in cash were also missing from the offices, police report.

A man was seen on video security cameras throughout the building entering the offices and leaving with the stolen items. A short time later, a man who fit the description was found by an on-duty patrolman at a local convenience store. He was identified as Rasheem Robinson, 25, from New York, New York and as the man wanted in the burglary, police report.
Robinson was placed under arrest and transported to Franklin Police Headquarters without incident. The stolen laptop, cellphone and cash were all recovered.

The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office also authorized the following charges: Third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, and criminal mischief, a disorderly persons offense.
Robinson was transported to the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
