Man Injured As Gunshots Fired At Car In Franklin Township

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Franklin Township Police Department are investigating.

FRANKLIN, NJ — A Franklin man sitting inside a car was injured after gunshots were fired in the township early Saturday morning. Authorities are currently investigating the shooting.

Franklin Township Police Officers went to the area of Oak Place after a 911 call said there were gunshots coming from the direction of Route 27, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said.

Police found a vehicle with gunshot damage and an adult man from Franklin inside suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit along with detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department are conducting the investigation.
